Keeping Your Comfort & Budget In Mind
Save On Oral Sedation
At The Burkitt Center for Comprehensive Dentistry, our mission is to meet the needs of every patient that walks through our doors. We’re proud to provide a variety of sedation options including oral sedation for anxious patients that are looking for a soothing dental procedure. Even though oral sedation is available at our office, we recognize that the cost can hold you back from requesting sedation or even avoiding necessary dental work altogether.
That’s why we’re excited to now offer a new Oral Sedation Program. The goal of this program is to cut back on oral sedation fees and help patients save money on their overall procedure. Before the Oral Sedation Program, patients were charged a $200 monitoring fee for oral sedation pills when scheduled for dental work. Thanks to the Oral Sedation Program, a patient’s monitoring fee is removed completely. You can save hundreds on your sedation treatment by opting into our Oral Sedation Program today! Schedule an appointment online or give us a call at (615) 941-3368 to learn more.
Pleasant & Painless
Oral Sedation Benefits
Our team understands that “going to the dentist” isn’t always a walk in the park for everyone. If you struggle with dental anxiety, you’re not alone, and there’s a solution to help you get the care you need. Oral sedation an effective way to receive dental care without the stress and anxiety that may come with visiting the dentist’s office.
Thanks to oral sedation, there’s no reason to feel pain or anxiety during your treatment. If you have a strong fear of going to the dentist or are experiencing jitters as you anticipate your procedure, oral sedation can keep you calm and relaxed. Even during appointments that last several hours, oral sedation can keep you from experiencing any pain or discomfort during your procedure. If you have a fear of needles or have a strong gag reflex, oral sedation can help you overcome these issues and experience a soothing visit.
Your Peace Of Mind Is Our Priority
How Oral Sedation Works
Oral sedation uses a strong pill or liquid sedative that you’ll take about 30-60 minutes before your appointment. Once the sedative takes effect, you’ll begin to feel groggy and tired. In some cases, you may end up falling asleep during your appointment.
With oral sedation, “anterograde amnesia” is very common. This means you may forget much of your procedure. Side effects are more prolonged compared to nitrous oxide sedation. Grogginess will likely continue well after your appointment, so you will not be able to drive or operate heavy machinery for at least 4-6 hours. You will need to arrange for someone to drive you to and from our office if you choose oral sedation.
